Donnie Gibson is a 46-year old father, husband, friend and grandfather who has been fighting stage 4 lung cancer for the past 2 years.

He is trying new treatments that could save his life, unfortunately his health insurance refuses to cover the treatments required. Sadly, Donnie's diagnosis has made it impossible for him to continue work. As you can imagine, his family is under heavy financial strain.

Donnie lives with his wife Kim and their daughter Cheyenne, he also has three other grown children; Anngelica, Kristyn, and Caleb.

A life-long resident of Myakka City, Donnie has always had a heart for others in need. Donnie has volunteered for years with the organization “Loving Hands Ministries”. This non-profit provides the much needed message of God's hope and healing along with drug recovery and life-coaching to troubled young boys. By volunteering his time, he has helped countless hurting teens avoid future encounters with the criminal justice system.
